It's Great Being Back in a Band With Liam

Despite what many people thought, the Oasis Live 25 tour has gone perfectly so far. The band wrapped up the opening UK & Ireland leg of the Live 25 tour, with a sold-out show in Dublin on Sunday, August 17th, and will now head across the Atlantic to the U.S, Canada and Mexico.

After two nights in Cardiff, five in Manchester, five in London (with two more to come), three in Edinburgh and two in Dublin. It's had it's fair share of moments, from Gallagher Hill to the Poznan, fans have been given a master class in performing, all of the hits and three live releases in the form of 'Slide Away (Cardiff), 'Cigarettes and Alcohol (Manchester) and 'Little by Little' (London) with the promise of more, from Edinburgh and Dublin.

A list of leaked live dates for 2026 has also been circulating. However, interviews from either Gallagher brother have been few and far between. For the most part, there has been radio silence from both Liam & Noel. Until today (August 19th 2025)

When Noel spoke on the phone to the UK Radio station Talksport. First reflecting on the image of him and Liam walking on stage arm in arm.

“It’s great just to be back with Bonehead and Liam, and just be doing it again. I guess when it’s all set and done, I’ll sit and reflect on it, but it’s great being back in a band with Liam. I’d forgotten how funny he was.”

“Liam’s smashing it, I’m proud of him,” he added. “Having been fronting a band for 16 years, I know how hard that is. I couldn’t do the stadium thing like he does it; it’s not in my nature, but I’ve got to say, good for you, mate. It’s been amazing.”

He was also asked if he was “stunned” by the positive reception to the shows. Noel answered: “Yeah, completely blown away. Everyone is. It’s difficult to put it into words, actually."

“Every night is the crowd’s first night, do you know what I mean? So every night’s got that same energy to it. But it’s been truly amazing. I’m not usually short for words, but I can’t articulate it.”

He went on to talk about the moment before taking to the stage for the first time in Cardiff last month. “For me personally, I grossly underestimated what I was getting into. After about five minutes, I was like, Alright, can I just go back to the dressing room and start this again?”

“I’ve done stadiums before and all that, but I don’t mind telling you, my legs turned to jelly after about halfway through the second song. It’s been an amazing thing, it is an amazing thing.”

Noel also mentioned that he is particularly looking forward to playing the Estadio Mas Monumental in Buenos Aires, the home of the football club River Plate. “The Argentinians are without doubt in the top five places for us to play in the world,” he said.

Hearing this from Noel is amazing from a fan's perspective. Those of us lucky enough to see the Live 25 shows live know Noel is embracing the gigs, and his rapport with all of the band, including Liam, is great. Throughout the tour, and pretty much ever since the announcement, people have commented that the whole thing is a "cash grab" and that it's not for the fans, etc. People will still go down that road, but Noel's words in that interview are sincere.

As mentioned previously, rumours of 2026 shows are rife, with dates in  Europe being talked about. As well as five more nights in Manchester at the Etihad Stadium, home of their beloved Manchester City. Oh, and the small matter of four nights at Knebworth to beat the record set by Robbie Williams in 2003. Of course, this is all just rumours and hearsay at the moment. Whatever happens, though, it's amazing for everyone involved that Oasis are back. For those there first time round, for those of us who missed out, for the brothers, for Joey the new drummer getting to play with the biggest band in the world, for Gem and Andy after the collapse of Beady Eye, for Bonehead to get to play with the band he formed, for Peggy to see her sons reconcile, for Gene, Anais, Lennon, Sonny, Donnovan and Molly to have a relationship again. For music, I hope that these shows, the songs, the clips, and the forthcoming documentary inspire a generation of kids to pick up guitars and start bands.
