Blossoms announced that they will be returning with new music. A new single, 'Joke About Divorce', is out on Monday, 20th April 2026. The track will debut first on BBC Radio 1's Jack Saunders New Music Show.
This announcement follows some social media teasing from the band across Instagram and X, including short sound clips, videos, and still images, as well as behind-the-scenes footage from what appears to be a music video. Fans have been quick to react, with excitement building rapidly online ahead of the Monday release.

This new music is the band's first since the release of 'The Honeymoon' and the 'Gary Deluxe' edition in 2025. The deluxe edition also came accompanied by 'Gary's Covers', a companion covers record featuring the band's takes on tracks by Whitney Houston, Radiohead, Lady Gaga, Bob Marley, and others.
'Gary', released in September 2024, became Blossoms' fourth number one album. 'Gary' was the first record released independently on the band's own label, ODD SK Records, after they parted ways with Virgin EMI.
The Stockport five-piece, consisting of Tom Ogden, Charlie Salt, Josh Dewhurst, Joe Donovan, and Myles Kellock, formed in 2013 and have built a reputation as one of the UK's most consistent indie acts, with five top-five albums to their name.
The new single arrives ahead of the band headlining NBHD Weekender 2026, marking the second time they have topped the bill at the festival, having first headlined back in 2022. With new music incoming and a headline festival slot confirmed, it seems likely that a new album and a full tour won’t be far behind.

2026 also marks ten years since Blossoms released their self-titled debut album, the record that introduced the world to ‘Charlemagne’, ‘At Most A Kiss’, ‘Honey Sweet’, ‘Getaway’, and more. That album debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart and earned the band a Mercury Prize nomination, cementing them as one of the most exciting breakthrough acts of 2016. It’s a milestone that surely deserves to be celebrated.
Could the band mark the occasion with a one-off show in Manchester or Stockport, maybe Edgeley Park again, a mini tour, or perhaps a re-issue of the record? Given how much that album means to their fanbase, it would be a huge moment, and one that feels very on-brand for a band that has always worn their Stockport roots with pride.
I'm sure we will know more after 6PM tomorrow. It's always great to have Blossoms releasing music.
